No, probably not. What version of windows are you running Atom? Looks like from your right-click menu that it is 98, ME, or 2000? I'm running XP. I have a feeling it may be you are on an older OS.
This comes from the fact that the thumbnail is stored in the same file but as separate data. It is possible to manipulate it but wow, what a headache just to get something like this. You'll find posts in some of the digital photography forums with people with corrupted images but the thumbnail looks perfect. FYI

The older OS may not be able to read the thumbnail data stored in the file. I was trying to do some quick research on that but couldn't find the right kind of info. I'm guessing...but that is my best guess on why he can't see the change.
and lizza, it can be a little difficult to tell when Atom is joking but not in this case. You'll get used to it and probably enjoy it. I know I do!!

Same here, and I tried saving the thumbnail in post #1 this time instead of the full image. It still doesn't change.

When I saved the larger image, the thumbnail showed the guy too ! But when I clicked on the thumbnail to view, it came up just the girl.
Now thats freakin spooky !
Oh and I have Windows XP and SP2 Home Edition 2002 and I am currently using IE

I think it's something to do with a JPEG containing a thumbnail of the actual photo, then if the girl is cropped out of the photo and it's then re-saved, the thumbnail stays the same. Not sure though, but it's happened to me before and I thought this must be why.

I think in this case, someone has played with the stored thumbnail or replaced the image but somehow not the thumbnail. They are different pictures rather than a crop of the same picture. Her head is at much more of an angle in the picture than it is in the thumbnail. Also, if you look close, in the thumbnail, the guys head is basically pressed against her head and her hair on that side is pressed somewhat flat. in the full sized image, you can tell her hair is falling naturally and not pressed by his head.
I don't know if someone did this accidentally somehow or on purpose but it is kinda weird. I didn't realized the thumbnail was saved in the file until I did some research after seeing this. Kinda interesting and cool.
