Yeah I was lucky with this one, I had a shot of a woodpecker in TN, the bugger took off before I could get a good shot the pic ended up too blurry.

I have yet to get a good shot of a woodpecker for that vary same reason. They just seem to know the very moment you are ready to click the shutter.

I'm not sure if this is a male, or female. I tried to set up for a better shot, and it flew off, but I guess it's better the the day I chased a male, and a female cardnal around. They must have been a pair, but I they didn't land lond enough for me to catch them. This wood pecker I just pointed, and clicked lol, or I never would have got this picture.

Whoa! That looks like a pileated woodpecker - they do get HUGE. That must have been an awesome sight.

Also - nice shot of the heron. They like to just hang out. Egrets are like that, too. Plus they never wave back. Hm. I'm starting to think that birds don't like me. Great! Another complex.

Lake Radnor, TN that's where I found him. He stopped there, and pecked at that tree for about 10 seconds then flew off. I lost sight of him, and yes he was quite a site.
