Photography Challenge: Black and White Photography
Show us your best 3 black and white photographs. The subject of the photo is completely up to you. You can either take the photograph in black and white to begin with, or convert it to a black and white photo within an image editor.
In order to post your entry for this challenge, we do ask that you use the V7N thumbnail option available to upload your photo. The full size image must be no larger than 450 pixels wide. (Examples at the end of this post.)
This black and white photography challenge will run for two weeks, ending the night of May 3, 2008. At that point, I will choose (along with the help of a V7N moderator) the top three entries. I will post the winning entries on my Digital Photography Tips blog, along with a link to each winner's website.*
Your entry must be a photograph that you have taken using a digital camera. Do not enter a photograph taken by someone else or scanned from a film print. Ideally, it will be a new shot that you have taken specifically for this challenge.
We will be holding multiple challenges over the coming weeks. You may participate in as many challenges at the same time as you choose to.
*Please note that I do not link to the following types of sites:
Here are the black and whites I came up with.
I want to appologize in advance if 'David' is too 'adult' , however what caught my attention was the fact that in the 'original' color version, none of his facial features were visable.
Hope the other 'family friendly' ones make up for my 'indiscretion'.

Thank you! I was playing around with all of the special effects in Photoshop Elements, and really liked the Sepia better, however, I wasn't sure if that 'qualified' under the 'Black and White' catagory.
After I posted that I tried to 'colorize' it, like I've seen Cricket do with Haley's photos, however, I just couldn't get it right. After playing with these photo's ALL day, I was bushed, and went to bed! LOL!

...I'll see if I can find a few pics in my *not so great* collection tonight.
'... it will be a new shot that you have taken specifically for this challenge.'
Time to add to that collection (;
No just kidding, I'm sure it will be great but take new pics, don't pull from old pics. The challenges are as much about going out and doing them as they are about sharing your fresh take on the subject matter.

Things to keep in mind when you submit your entries for the challenges.
- You may have a maximum of 3 photo entries per challenge.
- Your full size image must not be wider than 450 pixels.
- We do ask that you use the V7N thumbnail feature.
Although it is not a requirement, we did mention that ideally your entries will be new shots that you have taken specifically for this challenge. This will be taken into account when the winners are selected.
