Which Camera Do You Own?
Which camera(s) do you currently own? (Name brand and model)
Point and shoot? Or, DSLR?
What do you like best about it? What do you like least about it?
Which camera do you wish you owned?

Canon Rebel XT - DSLR - Price to quality good buy... I got it new when they first came out.
Canon SD700is - P&S - I paid way to much since I got it when it came out too.
- Awesome picture quality from a P&S.
- Cool manual mode settings to select from
I wish I had the Canon EOS 1D Mark III because it's so fast [10FPS!!]

I have the Sony a100 kit with 18-70mm lens.
I bought it primarily for web work. I didn't have my own digital camera and the point and shoots that I was using for quality work just wasn't cutting it anymore. I needed something semi-pro that would afford me some luxuries. Like swappable lenses and so on.
What really struck me about the a100 (i bought it about 10mos after it hit the market) is that it can accept many, many Sony and KM lenses. Since its essentially a revamped Konica Minolta. That plus the Image Stabilization is built into the body, not the lens. So no matter what lens you do put on it, you're still getting that great feature and not paying the premium for it in a lens.
I'd love to get one of the new versions though. The 350 or 700. The a100 wasn't released with a vertical grip, thought there are some aftermarket grips, they are garbage imo. The new line has some sweet grips.

Pentax ME SLR all manual focus.
Kodak 4800 digital (7 years old)
Wife has Cannon PS 570 I think.
I prefer the film for artistic stuff because I know how to set and control it. I think my 3.1 mp Kodak takes better pictures than the newer Cannon. I just think the optics are better.
And then over there on the bookshelves in my camera collection I have everything from a 1913 box camera to a Kodak instant print. The favorite of those is the 620 film camera that I first learned to use way more years ago than I am willing to admit to. I still have those negs but no one local make BW prints any more.

The battery life sucks big time. The more features I use on it, the less time my batteries last.

Minolta XL700 SLR - oldie but a goodie - love the lenses to choose from, don't care for having to develope film
used this until we got this.....
Canon EOS 20D DSLR - love the fact I don't have 2000 more pictures of the side of my son's head while I'm waiting for my old digital camera to TAKE THE PICTURE, love my new memory card -why bother to download..... ok... where are those product pictures that I took 6 weeks ago?? baby in pool, baby smiling, where the heck are those pictures....
Guess I need to download more often.
Now to take some angle photos...... (I don't need a new camera - got what we always wished for, now lenses.....)

Nikon D70, DSLR got it for a steal ($500 for camera 2 lenses, two batteries and misc. stuff) since I bought it online the week Nikon released the D70S! I played with camera's for almost a year before I decided I wanted it over all others(upgraded from a Fugi something that has since been destroyed by one of my daughter's "friends")
I like it because all the buttons I need are in smart places, it's as close to a pro camera as you can get (I just can't afford $5,000 for a camera!) and has raw image abilities. I don't use that often but I have the option if I want.
I also have an old SLR Pentax film camera, it's a real workhorse. Sometimes I miss using film, but I don't miss paying for developing. One day I'd like to build a little B&W darkroom in my basement.
My dream camera? I love my D70 - unless I upgraded to a professional cameral I wouldn't change.

Ok, I own 2 cameras.
Samsung Digimax 201 which I have owned forever. It is a P&S. I does ok and is easy to use. Although it is only 2MP. I have done pretty good with it but wanted better.
So I bought a SVP XThinn-1056 which has the capability up to 10MP. I have not used it as yet so cannot tell you how it works. Just got it. Hopefully it works really well. Has a 2GB memory card with it which will come in handy.

Sony DSC-F828 (8 MP)
Although I use this camera in complete manual mode, it can also be used at a point and shoot camera based on the setting you choose. Advantages? What I see in the viewfinder, is what I am going to end up with. Disadvantages? I can't change lenses.
Canon EOS 400D (10.1 MP) aka: Canon XTI
Higher learning curve - Although it does offer some point and shoot type settings, what I see in the viewfinder is not necessarily what I am going to get, so I better know my setting well, or be prepared for a lot of trial and error practice. Advantages? I can change lenses!

OK, I don't like this thread because I just realized my camera is lost WITH MY DAUGHTER'S PROM PHOTOS IN IT!
It's a Sony Cybershot 8.1 ( I think, I was gonna check the megapixels when I realized it's missing)
I like that it's affordable, small, and can be point-and-shoot, manual setting, and has other presettings.
I don't like the delay between pushing the button and when the photo is taken. I have to anticipate to get the shot I want which is hard since I'm mostly taking photos of my kids.
I don't know enough about other cameras to know what else I'd rather have. JSomething that takes the photo immediately but is as easy to use as my Sony would thrill me.
Off to search for the camera...

Don't have a cam of my own, just my N80 phone who's also not equipped with the best resolution. But I think Cannon and Sony are the best camera brands. I love to see and take pictures especially landscapes and flowers, I just have several other things to buy other than a camera.
