'Solitude' and all the many interpretations of it.
'Depth' to show off or play with some fancy DOF skills.
'INT & EXT' whereby one shoots from inside towards the outside or vice versa an get both in the shot then making proper calulation or post work to get them both exposed properly. ie: hdr or just braketing in general.
'Rock Star' Set-up, Shoot and light your subject in the best rock star stlye pose.
'Motion' Shoot something in motion so that the subject is in focus but the surrounding isnt.
'Action' freeze frame some action.

That's what I was going to say too, so it can't be lame.
How about kids, families, summer...

Cats. Taking a photo of a cat is a challenge itself and cats are cute.

How about getting elemental...
Water,
Fire,
Earth,
Air
Or just keeping it simple...
Night,
Day,
Darkness,
Light...

Until folks start taking more interest in the current challenges, it doesn't make much sense to start new ones.
Go! Everyone add your entry to the current challenges!

I know this is an old post but wanted to reply anyway.
It is not a lack of interest, it is a lack of time right now. The only thing I have had time to take pictures of for the last 60 days is a large home repair project that has consumed an inordinate amount of time. I will post some of those on a site of mine. The article will be called "The Dormer project from Hell."
Don't get discouraged and keep posting the contests. I promise I will submit some.
