I'm glad you liked the site. I used a free template as a model, so the design is not 100% original...it's somewhere around 70%

Well, my submission worked fine -but- your search engine requests a whopping 600 character description!

You need to lower that number to between 100 and 200 characters.

I manually added relevant stuff to my description but frankly, it's way too much detail for a search engine. People aren't looking for descriptions this long.

Hi, thanks for submitting! I know that people won't read descriptions that long, but search engines will. The majority of web directories get their traffic out of link exchange, inclusion in directory lists (such as info.vilesilencer) etc. and quite a few have a good traffic flow from Google. I expect that by imposing the 600 chars for the description, along with 5-7 listings per page, my website will be more search engine friendly. Both my website and your websites will benefit from that.

Mariuskl, sorry, when I coded the site I somehow thought an url/email should be enough. I removed it now, so it's ok to add more urls for the same email.

OK I added NFL Draft Dog......wow was that description long. 600 characters are indeed much to long. 300 would be more than enough, about half way I almost gave up with lack of anything else to write. Oh well I will say your directory will be original because no one else would dare make descriptions that long. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of your original directory.

I know it's a long description. Many people do something like: "My website oferrs, this,that, that, that, etc". You got the point...they just enumerate their keywords while others duplicate sentences.(they get rejected of course)

The thing is that I do intend to promote the website and acquire a PR4 or 5. A description of 600 is a small price to pay for having a link on a PR5 website, even if it is not on the homepage.

The more I think about it the more it does make sense, it's actually brilliant. Since you have a free directory you have to find a way to keep the spammers out. A spammer would never take the time to write a unique, quality description 600 characters long.

Question: You are undoubtedly going to get hundreds of really crappy, spammy descriptions, are you going to edit them or just reject them?

Well, I reject them most of the time, but if I really like a website and it has a good description and for example the TITLE in uppercase, I edit it and add it. After all my purpose is having quality content.

Yep, that's what I do. People think hard as to what his/her site is all about.
