I try to use it but so some directory in the list is taking so long time to get approve

Same here. Other links requires reciprocal linking.

But i found few sites and got approved immediately.

Very good lists. thanks! I've been submitting to some of directories in those lists and most of them are free and then there's also some paid directory (not free) others cost only $2 and some up to $300 annually. Its up to the users which directory they will submit their sites.

Aside from that, some of UK directories are only accepting sites that are UK-based..

true, some UK directories only accept UK based sites but there are also some UK directories that accept non UK based sites. Australia and Argentina based web directories however accepts sites that are not au,ar based. I don't know whats with UK, they are very choosy when it comes to submitting to their UK based directories.
