Is it reliable company to register domain names?

The reason for my asking is that I am going to register domain name and got to know that webhostgiant.com offers cheaper domain registration than the other companies ($7.95/year). What do you think? Should register my domains with them?

I suggest you never buy your domain at the same place you buy hosting. The potential for problems doubles when you do that.

domainsite*com offers about the same price for domains at least for the first year, if you go with their basic plan. If you plan to host the site somewhere the basic registeration is all you need.

Never buy domains from people you are buying hosting with. I strongly suggest using NameCheap, been using them for nearly 3 years and I would never even imagine using anyone else. Have had bad experience with anything else I have tried.

shakir is on the right pathshakir is on the right path
I disagree with all. Both are in one is vry good and technically benefit like all the changes on domains will take immediate effect if bot are in same companies is very easy, fo example if do any changes in name server or adding sub domains etc wil take effect within Hrs. I m with godaddy since 5 yrs both hosting and domain with them. IF i want to add new domain or parked domain, sometime i change the name server is effecting within hours. Until now i did not face any problem of delaying or other

If you were a big webmaster you would have realised at some point in the last 5 years why it is not a good idea.

Shakir, get back to us after you decide to move your account elsewhere or you otherwise tick off your current host.

Two seperate places puts you in the drivers seat. No tale kissing to get what you already paid for and own the rights to.

While most domain registrars like GoDaddy, Namecheap and Yahoo provides a hosting package together with your domain name purchase to make it easy for you, it can become a problem in future. Here are some pointers I would like to bring across on why you should never buy and host your domain at the same place.

I will not go into details about other domain name registrars as I’ve never used them and I only use GoDaddy and Namecheap. While they have cheap hosting if you buy from them, I chose to host my domain names elsewhere.

If you host your domain name at the same place or simply using their domain name servers, if they experience any downtime, your website will turn into a 404. This is a term used when your website cannot be found due to a HTTP Error 404. You’d most likely know them as “File Not Found”, “Not Found”, etc.

In short, don’t ever buy and host your domain at the same place. You do not want to risk losing your website and affecting your home business should the worst ever happen.

I generally prefer having different Domain providers and Different Hosting providers.
there are a lot of issues, when you collaborate both of them and make them into one.
You should go for different providers for your domain and Hosting solutions provider.
