What makes a domain name worth money?
Hey mates, I was thinking we should all put our 2 cents here and tell everyone what makes us personally think a domain is valuable.
For sure, 2 letter real authentic domains are, I find 2 words that go well together make it the best though.

Perhaps you can determine what a good domain is first. And then you can make a estimate on if it fits that criteria. I like this tutorial on Picking the right domain name.

I suppose that those factors do influence on the domain names:
length, traffic, PR, web site development level.

Things that make a domain valuable:
- its shortness
- its keywords/market
- the site you put up on it!

It should be short, meaningful and memorable but it's difficult to ind all combination at one while you look for a domain name.

I have to agree with this one: I love short domain names, and they should be small and easy to remember in my view.
Or you take big one, with a lot of keywords in it.
But i personally prefer short ones, like v7n.com.

Does the domain fit the content? You can have a fabulous domain, but when someone goes to it and the content is not relevant to the domain, you would lose that visitor and their potential revenue, correct? Thanks,The Redhead

A domain is only worth money if someone else wants it.
It is best to stick with .com, and also popularly searched phrases.

virtually any domain name can be made valuable with proper inbound links as well as traffic.
Think about it.
what would fweofea.net be worth if it was getting 100k unique visitors a day?

What makes a domain name worth money?
Ebay is the easiest and quickest way to sell your domain name. Start your price low as people want a bargain. Once you have received an initial bid, it will draw people’s attention to your name and create more bids. You may want to set a reserve price if you want to make it sure to get amount. While selling your domain on Ebay, make sure your domain name is in the title of the description. People must also, include an appraisal to show to possible buyers the value of the domain. Keep your description short, clean, and really emphasize how important and rare your domain is.

content is really Important,A domain name which has really good content is usually more successful than a domain name that is short but without real content on It.
Backlink(s) and their quality also matter.

Even a non-keyword rich web site can perform well although you may consider a domain name that reflects the theme of your website.
