Some people just refuse to sell domains.... Like, if I got nadya.com I wouldn't sell it for $1 million.

Yeah... he knows I want it... but I'm not going to pay much for it, because I just want it for fun. I registered thebassman.net for a couple years, thinking he may just drop it after seeing I got a replacement, but the bastard keeps taking it year after year...

The owner of jazzee.com says the domain is "slated for development". They've had it for a year and they have nothing up

It's their domain so they are free to do what they want with it (within reason), complaining to their registrar will do nothing. I bet theres plenty of people here sitting on names because they think they will be worth something one day.

Not sure about .com , but some registries renew domains automatically and if domain Ă*s not paid the renewal fee it is registrar's responsibility (or choice) to delete the name. If registrar forgets to delete, it remains renewed. Otherwise it drops in 35+ days.
I recommend www.domainwatchdog.info for watching domains although I never used it myself

Yup, I got a few. Most just redirect to my sites though, as they're in the same field.

Normally, you should wait about 35 days before the expired domain is available, but it's depends on the registry. The moment the expired domain drops, you can register it. But it's not the case however, as soon as it drops, it's caught right now!!!This is for those very good domains only. If the domain is not good, no one pays for it.huh...

Anyone use those "autobuy" expried domain services with any luck?
Good thread but was wondering if anyone ever used any of the services that offer to snag a domain the moment it expires?
Even some registers have them and charge a fee.
So I was wondering if anyone ever had any luck with them?
Thanks
Frank

Almost every name that isnt renewed will be sifted through by tens of thousands of Domain investors/squatters/collecters/developers/PPC business's, you name it.. thousands will see it and if any one of them have a thought that it might have value in many areas, you will be competing for it.
I can show you lists of what these expired domains go for daily.(but I probably wont for privacy sake). it isnt uncommon to see names well above the 100k mark.. poor fools forget to renew or had no idea of worth.
The toughest part are the collectors... they arent all in the "know" and will drive the price up because "they just have to have it" It sets a bad trend.
Recently even 4 number names have been going up in an average price close to 200$.. And realy they dont have relevent meaning unless your chineese and maybe some other cultures. 3 Letter .nets are being drivin up lately as well, but its my opinion that it isnt for valid reason.. When you see one guy with hundreds of them, the supply demand is manufactured and not of relevence to me. 3 letter .nets start at about 400 if your lucky, and the other no meaning ones that just look good can go up to the 2k mark.. and relevent ones will easily hit very high numbers.
Kevin.
