EJRS.COM is liked by many
www.mynewlongdomainname.tld

PRO
- easier to remember
- easier to type

CON
- not so good SEO-wise

www.my-new-long-domain-name.tld

PRO
- great, SEO-wise

CON
- who on earth cares to type so many hyphens?
- only way to get mileage out of it is if people clicked on it, reality is how many people would?

SOLUTION:
- buy both !!
- use the hyphenated domain as main url for SEO purpose
- use non hyphenated for those of us who will be trying to access your pages.

Best wishes and much success to you in your endeavors.

If it were me, I'd probably buy both then have #1 be a redirect to #2. Either that or I'd just buy #1.

Most people will not type the hyphens unless it is a direct link from a search engine. People type domains usually from memory of something they saw or heard that day.

Yes, that is a smart thing to do. People who memorized the domain found
via search engine is not likely to keep typing the dashes, so they'll tend to
go to #1 from memory.
