Question Park or redirect?

What do you think is best when buying the available TLD's for a domain that you own? Park them on top of the one that's used, or run them with a redirect?

Example, got a client that bought hisdomain.com, .org, .net. The dot .com is the only one were going to have a site on, but they want to be found via any of them.

What do you use?...and why? Let's here the pros and cons of each.

301's definitely a lot better for the long run. I'll agree.

I'm wondering what, if any, adverse effects would be on not even creating the extra accounts. Just set name servers and park. What'ya think?

301 redirect with no hesitation. If you park your domain on the registrar site they will make money off your site with adsenses.

At least if someone is looking for your domain with .biz, .info, .net, etc they will see your site with a 301 to .com and perhaps this person will stay longer on your site to read articles, buy products, or sign up.

Just my 2 cents

No I didnt mean parking at the registrar.

I meant change nameservers and then park without the extra account for the parked domains.

Boy, now that I read that, that sounded even more confusing didn't it. LOL

I own servers and sell hosting. That should clear it up.
If the name servers are changed to my nameservers, I could just park with out creating the extra accounts.

Any adverse effects to that verses an account with an active 301?

I know this thread is old, but I couldn't resist. I would say that the call is yours to make. If you think you can make more money by using a 301, then do it. If not, just park the domain yourself and slap up some ads and offers. A third way-if you are generating enough traffic from these domains that you want to park, you could always sell the traffic to somebody.

if the main site is parked, then let them go there own way.

If it's a site, then point them. don't mask the url.

A redirect is much better than parking the domain.
