Could you provide me the list of free domains.actually i am in need of domain names for my new site so if you know then share it with me.

Well, you can not get a TLD domains like .com, .org, .net for free but yes you can get subdomains like .co.cc, .co.tk etc..... Just goolge it and you will find so many free subdomain co. that offers such extensions.

Beware of free offers.

Be sure that you are in total control of your domain name. Some of these offers (including the ones that say free domain with hosting) you don't own the domain. It has someone else's name as the registered owner of the domain, making it very difficult for you to move the site, change the domain registration company and web hosting.

A much better plan (in the long run) is to:
-register the domain name yourself. It's not that hard. Just go to the accredited domain registrars list to find one.
-purchase your web hosting separately. There are offers in our Web Hosting marketplace if you would like to support one of our members.
-hire a web designer/developer to build your website (if you can't do it yourself). Beware that if you use a template/shopping cart/online editor provided by the web hosting company, you can't take it with you (probably, check the terms and conditions).

i had a bad experience with free domain names. The free domain names dont get indexed by google sometimes or they end up in banned list. digg does not allow 0fees subdomains. its better to spend some money and buy a proper domain name.

Free domain names I suppose they are the ones which will not guarantee you your contact information in the administrative contacts. In this case I suppose that would be time wasting to develop such domain names.

If you want to develop your site then don't choose free domain name extensions as they are of no value. Its good to spend some money and buy a proper domain name.

Free domain, not possible. Do not ever go for any free stuff because at the end you will suffer only. You can still purchase a domain name of .info or .in at a lower price of only $2 or something like thta.
So why to go for free domain name?

there are many places like, Yahoo domains, Godaddy, 1&1, Small-business that provides great domains, they even provides promo codes to get domains at even cheaper prices

Some web hosting companies will be able to provide you domain name for free if you buy their web hosting and pay for the whole month in advance.
But at the same time I have to say that is the way to get scammed and lose the domain name in the future.

I don't agree with you.Some web hosting companies provide you domain name for free with using their web hosting,If you don't want to use their hosting,the web hosting provider will decuct the domain fee and the domain name belong to you.You can use it continually.
