Exclamation Moving Domain from GoDaddy to 1and1

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to transfer a domain from:

GoDaddy Virtual Private Server using Simple Control Panel

to:

1and1 Dedicated Server using Plesk

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

I've done domain transfers without any downtime to the site going from a hosting package to a hosting package... but this is the first time I've worked with SCP or Plesk or Servers.

I do not think you will have any downtime this time. Why are you worrying about that I wonder?

I can't find a way to work with the files and stuff on the new dedicated server until I've initiated the domain transfer and pointed the nameservers for the domain to 1and1. One I've initiated the transfer, then I can create the folders on the server and upload the files I need, but I can't run the installers and stuff until I've got the nameservers pointed at 1and1.

Maybe there's something I'm not doing right here....

Send a message via MSN to pingpipe
if you are using NS1 and NS2 on the existing configuration the easiest way would probably be to configure NS3 and NS4 on the new servers, and then administer your DNS to point to the new box...you should be able to work with your files on the new server before doing that, though, just access it via the IP

Contact your new (prospective) domain name registrar and ask them about help
