Well, I decided to. My partner and I want to try it. If it does not go well we'll just close.

I mean, If we close up, then will pay out all the money our clients payed us. Or we'll Just transfer them to a different hosting and support them with a free year of hosing.
But I do not think this is goint to happen.

You must not expect someone to have an idea for your host name. Try to describe your future identity as web host, your target, etc and the hane will come.

D.

I don't think that domain names are as much of a problem as people make them out to be. The most important thing is to pick a name that is easy to remember and get the name out there. It doesn't have to mean anything, can be a made up word, something not too long and not necessarily related to the services/products you offer. As long as your name does not violate a pre-existing trademark, you are good to go. Look at web hosting services like jumpline.

Develop a very real business plan that the banks will accept - then worry about your name.
Frankly, it's not the name that will sell you...

A good domain name does, however, makes it easier for customers to come back to you...

For help searching for a domain name you might try: http://www.deleteddomains.com/. Its a free service and you don't have to sign up to use the search features.

Hmm.. Just check out that deleted domains. Interesting. A lot of those domains are cryptic or more like code than a useful keyword or name-like domain. Maybe I'll give some time to the power search.
Back to forum topic: What services are you going to offer with your hosting? I'm also helping start up a hosting company for the clients we already serve and others. What are some tips to avoid the pratfalls for hosting newbies... Maybe I should start a new topic. Thanks.
Service is everything.

You can always start with one domain and then find a better one. Worked for adgrafix.com who are now hosting.com

Get a biz plan first, not for the banks, just to organize yourself.
Depending on your target, products, location, your name may vary, or just get a nonsense word, but a sticky one.
that's all IMHO (in my hosting opinion, )
