Unhappy Help Me!

I have just changed my website server from Windows to Linux and am getting a "Bad Request" error message when I try and access my site.

I contacted my hosts who said this can take upto 48 hours to solve...if I had realised that I wouldnm't have changed it!

Is there anyone here who can answer me a couple of questions:
1) Will will definately take that long?
2) Will I lose my search engine rankings?

HELP

DNS can typically take anywhere from instant to up to 3 days. This varies on host os registrar.

Did you setup your site on the linux server yet? What the URL to the site? Just because you can't see it does not mean other can't. Post your URL and I'll check it for you. I'm sure others here will do the same.

The only way you will lose your SE placement is if you were using .ASP pages and now using .PHP pages. If the pages are exactly the same you shouldn't have an issue.

hi imaginemn - thanks for your reply...

it looks like my site is slowing coming back now - most of the pages are up...the only things that haven't returned are a few images but my hosts have told me that in time, everything would have transferred to the new server.

hopefully, fingers crossed, that should be it now!
