.jp Domains

We were looking into .jp domains recently, and discovered a few interesting facts.

First, in order to get a .co.jp domain, you have to have proper documentation showing you have a legitimate business in Japan. Probably a good idea, and it would cut down on domain-horders here in the .com world.

Second, damn they are expensive! .jp domains are around $75 a year, and .co.jp domains are around $120 a year!

well.. if you can read japanese.. you can get a .jp domain for about ¥3690

virtually impossible if you don't have a japanese entity to register .co.jp

I currently have 2 .jp domain names

Gariben, where can you get .jp domains for ¥3690? I got mine at livedoor, and it was 7,000 yen +, or somewhere around there.

Why buy a jp domain, unless your getting it for a japanese website (which may be a possibility of what you're doing JS, not sure :p)

edit: my friend bought a jp domain, turned out it was the biggest waste of money he had ever done on the internet
