I checked out a few wholesale (reseller) things, and it's just stupid. SRSPlus by NetSol:

The standard pricing for new domain registrations, renewals, and transfers will be $7.95.

So, to make a profit I'd have to sell them at $12+. I'm thinking we can just wait a while and apply to be a registrar.

In the UK I've actually seen company's selling domain registration services for £30 A MONTH. Astonishing. For the UK market, even the basic Enom reseller prices are good enough to make a small profit on - though I wouldn't like to stake a company's future profits on income from domain reigstrations alone. It's a cherry on top of a cake of other services, really.
Perhaps.

check out http://enom.com
good prices, good API and several different reseller plans. A lot of the wholesalers out there are actually enom resellers.
