I just changed the DNS like 45 minutes ago and it's resolving already. Damn!

Wow! Best I've had was 24. And that was a partial. Went back few hours later and got the "old" info. To totally switch was another 18.

Some registrars are quicker, such as namecheap for example. I love them.

Well NameCheap's propagation times have been as quick as "instant" for me. Others like GoDaddy seem to be able to get it done in a couple of hrs. I remember the good old days when you had to wait for 3 days...

With new domains, managed at GoDaddy, I have set nameservers and begun to use them immediately. It, obviously, doesn't alwasy happen that way. But it has happened.
On a brand new domain name, the usual DNS propagation is under an hour for me.
(You guys all know how to get around DNS if you're still waiting for it to propagate? Right?)

Same here, my last two domains resolved immediately, I used godaddy too, but with the last of those two the www version took a few hours longer.

And back in the old days, if you changed anything more than the DNS info, like your snail mail address, it took MUCH longer, like a month. With NetworkCrummySolutions, you could easily steal a domain by making a change request, and replying to the E-mail under the E-Mail address that owned the domain!!!

For me it was $50.00. I got my first domain in 1997! DNS was 24 hours, then if you changed other info like address, then it took a LONG time!

I guess that's because all the good ones will be gone, all that will be left is jumbled letters/numbers...or...

Actually, I think the price of domains is going to go up.
The value of quality domains has increased 25% a year for 5 straight years. You are MUCH better investing in domains than the stockmarket.
