I think those:
1. Length
2. Ability to be memorable
3. Extension. That is recommended to have domain names with COM domain name extension.

Don't include a hyphen as people are likely to forget it.

the domain name should be as short as possible. one word domain names are the best and if you are going for 2 word domain name then make sure your keyword is in there and go for TLD like .com or .net

in the past years Google has given advantage to "keyword" domain names however they have recently announced on working out a certain balance between brand names and keywords for domain names

Should be easy to remember. Easy to pronounce. It should be based off of what your web site is displaying or represents. Doesn't hurt to make it short as possible.

When building a brand I would go with a short name if possible. Exact match terms can be great to own even if you only 301 redirect them towards the main website. Go with .com for the most credibility.

Good luck you are going to have a difficult time finding a good name for your niche.

One to add... uncommon. People remember easily what is "out of this world" for them.

It actually depends on what kind of traffic you're expecting.

If you think you'll have more organic visitors than referrals or direct, I'll advise to go for a keyword rich domain and don't worry much about the length.

But if you're expecting more direct visitors, go for a brandable domain name. Something that people are only able to remember easily but is also different from other domains in the same niche.

I think you should think of a good catch phrase as your website's name. Keep it short and easy to remember, there are a lot of domain names that started as a catch phrase and they've become popular.

Better to use only .com domain names.
Use the common spellings, do not vary the spelling to get the domain name.
Is not offensive to any particular group.

Keep your domain name as simple as possible without hyphens and stick with .com are the few things you need to keep in mind.
