Question .TK Domains

Hi everyone

Just a quick question as many of you probably already know you can get .TK domain 100% free I only found this out the other day and now I am interested in whether if I was to create a blog etc to build backlinks from would I still be able to rank well with a .TK as I know .co.cc has been removed from Google search results due to spamming etc so I was basically wondering if I would encounter any problems using these domains???

If you are gong to start a new website/weblog and work for it and use your time to promote it, i suggest you to by another extension like .com to don't loss your effort and time.

I was only thinking of using it as I use blogs to create backlinks I wont be using it as a main site all I was be doing is posting various articles I write basically I wont be spending lots of time just enough to get it indexed and showing up for a few search terms I just need to know how google looks at .TK.

For my own sites I have my own domains such as .co.uk, .gb.net and so on but always looking for free options to build links without the no follow

Just like to make sure I'm armed with all the info I need

Oh, yes, I got it. If you want free domains, its a good choice. I have seen many .tk domains since several years ago and i think Google will not penalize them. co.cc domains were really bad but there are many good .tk domains on the net. You can choose them if you want free domains.

It looks like Google doesn't support .tk domains for at least some of their services: http://www.google.com/support/forum/...d9787fff&hl=en

What does that mean??? Will they not get indexed??? I need to find free domains to create wordpress blogs on so I can create link wheels etc, If the .TK ones won't get indexed I'll have to use them for placing affiliate links on Yahoo Answers etc

I already have free blogs all over the internet but I can do a lot more if I have a domain for instance install wordpress and host the domain on my hosting plan so I have full control and am not limited by some of the settings free blog sites use

free to me means that either you want to test your web skills or you are lazy to register domain. You can't catch a eagle with a fly

How does it mean I am too lazy to register domain names when I run my main sites on .co.uk's as mentioned above, clearly haven't read the whole thread as it clearly states I want free domains so I can set up multi blogs as well as some new money making schemes which I would prefer to test on a free domain.

so you need free domain to create something like linkfarm. Then it all makes sense. I apologize I didn't mean to offend you.

No worries mate,

I would say I am more going to try a few things out and if they work of course I will look at making them permanent with .com/.co.uk domains and so on.

Also I find blogs are great for getting one way links with keyword rich anchor text and I am willing to write quality content if it means more traffic.

I would try to register any other extension besides .tk (.com, .net, .org). Even if it's just for experimentation.

Could be it is of the same reason why .co.cc has been removed or not supported as well.
Tendency with free domains is that they are widely used for spamming.

You either have to invest buying those .com(s) domains or just use blogspot for blogging and creating links

Don't go for .tk and I say that from my experience, as I tested this out. I started a blog with original content, backlinks etc and I was obviously undervalued because of the tld.

I have .com's etc but I need domains for free to try new ways to make money I can't afford to invest 50 on 10 or so domains with stuff that might not work when I can test the water.

There has to be some free domains worthwhile out there???

Google mostly like dot com domains. There a lot of people who recently shifted to .tk domain because it works as url shortener. Further a lot of spammer use this .tk domain.
I think that after 2 or 3 years, same thing will happen with .tk as it happen with .co or .cc

I am not so sure about that. You can go for cheaper versions, like .info, but I really don't think there is anything free & good to use as well. Or let me know if you find anything!

.tk is different to .co.cc (not a TLD registry, its just a domain name ".co.cc" which is offering a service of free domain names "sub domain names").. but while coming to the .tk, it is a registry of a .tk domain name. i think .tk doesn't offer dns service for freely registered .tk domain names.
