Angry Domain backorder problems

I just learned a lot about domain backorder, the hard way, thanks to poor service from Godaddy where I had paid for backorder tracking. After I lost any chance to get the desired domain, I finally learned from a Godaddy supervisor that the best advice is to sign up for many/all the backorder services to increase your chance of capture. Godaddy claims to have great success in capturing expiring Godaddy registered domains. I have yet to confirm that but expect to in Feb. 2012. I can tell you that using Godaddy to capture domains controlled by other registrars is unlikely so don't use only Godaddy. In fact, unless it's a Godaddy registered domain, why use Godaddy at all for domain backorder?? Also, other backorder services may not charge upfront for the service. Given the terrible service from Godaddy (with very bad advice from several CSRs), I got a refund of the backorder charge. That doesn't make up for losing the domain but that's all Godaddy could do other than to finally give me good advice about using all the backorder services.

Pardon me for bumping this thread but is there any other sites to use besides Godaddy for the domain backorders?

I'm having a brain fart right now thinking of some as i've been a godaddy domain snake for many years and have not bought a domain anywhere else. lol

Options to GoDaddy for Domain Name Drops

I have had the most luck with Backorderzone.com (2 wins) but also use Snapnames.com, Namejet.com and Pool.com. I've looked at sedo.com but haven't used it yet. As on my first post, I suggest that you use GoDaddy only if the domain is there before it drops. BTW, I use GoDaddy for most services because of its customer service which is fantastic. I just learned the hard way about name drops that you should use other services too.

Just about every registrar offers some form of back order service. The second level resellers often don't.

The fairest one I have found is http://www.domainmonster.com/.

Theirs are no-win no-fee so if you don't get the name you don't pay! Which is a huge advantage in my opinion.

Also they only take 1 back order per domain, whereas with some other back order services you end up bidding against a load of other people to get the name!

All down to personal opinion though!

Another thing that I have found is the backorder price varies from different sites.
