Ideas for a new domain with numbers in it

I used to have a proprietorship based on my address .. 62-151 Enterprises ... so I finally registered a new domain .. the business name was never formally registered. Most of my registered business names have a derivative of my name in it (HART) or is pet related.

The new domain is ... 62-151.com ...

Currently, I just tossed up a wordpress blog template. There's no real activity in this domain yet. For now, I've thought of "62-151 Media Group". I have not decided on using that name, but like it better than "62-151 Enterprises" for something online.

Possible uses of this domain that I thought of:

1) Another Wordpress blog but = about what?
>> I have about 25 blogs now and this name is not too blog friendly

2) Remarketing my blog network under this new domain?
>> My blogs are currently under the HART-Empire Network name, although I've been marketing myself under the HART (1-800-HART) name and basically like that network name (and it's registered)

3) A non-blog .. something with low maintenance.. reference site?
>> This would be a nice change for me. It would be nice to have a site that has content, instead of always creating new content each day when blogging .. readers are not loyal when you get lazy when you blog

4) Another online store?
>> I've tried online stores - have 2 of them, but it's a lot of work. In each case they are multi-product. If going this route, I would probably like to cut back to less than a dozen products - but - what type of products? I have a products blog that I recommend all types of products that I am affiliated with (Amazon, Art.com, etc) and I get more adsense commissions than commissions from the companies themselves.

So .. as a semi-long-time lurker here, and recently newly-registered user ... I thought I would ask all of you reading this Domain Name forum ...

1) Is there any hope for a numbered domain like 62-151.com?
2) Do you have any suggestions for a use for my 62-151.com?
3) Can you think of a better name for 62-151.com other than 62-151 Media Group?

Thanks in advance.
Take care.

I'd do something like this.

62 One Five One Media (sixty-two one five one)

as far as an idea... directory? main umbrella linking to everything else? I don't really have any other ideas for that... sorry.

I was thinking of the umbrella idea, like a giant sitemap or cover page with a little graphic of all my mastheads ..

Say! I really Like that graphic .. do you mind if I use it? It's great!

feel free to use it. consider it a gift from V7N.com and v7design.com

I think it would be kind of cool to do a site map style setup with little screenshots of each page under your umbrella.

good luck. let me know when you get it up and running.

Hey JuggoPop .. I've cleaned my site up now, got my directory going and decided to hilite the free-for-all directory listing .. and then add the occassional blogging news in the main site .. or, promote my own network most probably

http://62-151.com/links/

I've credited you on the logo design on http://62-151.com footer.

I think this site will work that way. Not bad! Used your idea and logo too

Thanks Dude.

You can do a LOT better than that for a name. Heck get a 3 char .com like this site..or even a 3 char .net which are going for $10-$20. I find your name unsuitable for use. It's hard to remember, spell or say.

"the numbers six two hyphen one five one dot com"

is a lot longer than

"X four three dot net"

that is a good point, but you can fix it with business cards and website links.
unless you are doing radio ads then it doesn't matter that much.

Length matters when it comes to memory. Take v7n as an example. It's not special but it is short to remember. 151- something...I won't remember as I don't right now. I have read this thread 2-3 times and I would need to check the thread again to find the name. Also it's not only radio you say the name too. It can also be vendors over the phone. Have you heard of word-of-mouth advertising? It's one of the most popular and successful ways to market. It involves saying the products name to another person. No one is going to remember 151-whatever when they get home and hit their computer.

Deep down .. I think you're probably right. (I've posted a notice in most of my blogs that the directory is available, plus in this forum and one other) .. I've only had one nibble that actually clicked on a link to the directoy and added their URL.

And, like you said .. I wonder if those that clicked remembered the name afterwards. 62-151 (i say it as "sixty-two dash one-fifty-one") is easy for me to remember - because it's part of my address.

BUT _ this domain is here. And this new directory I created works and is setup. I'd hate for this one to go to waste .. but it's still early to redirect or create a new URL. I suppose I can just use this one for testing templates, scripts, etc.

I need to re-think I guess.

of course. don't treat me like I'm a moron.
with face to face word of mouth, a well design business card helps anyone remember any domain.
you can never depend on anyone's memory... you have to brand it.

I agree - memorability of a domain name is very important. It should be short, but long enough to be memorable, and simple. Your domain sounds like a passcode you have to remember.

Also, when you propose a new domain name, say it out loud and listen to how it sounds...can it be mistaken for another word combo? (Same goes for when it's spelled out - is there any other word combo it spells?) I have a 3 letter domain (h6s dot com) that I no longer use because it was more confusing than my 7 letter domain (hybrid6 dot com). "h6s" sounds like "hsuccess" to most people and they would get it confused. Memorability is key.
