Do keyword rich domains help in SEO ??

I am planning to buy a domain from godaddy. I wanted to know if having a niche keyword in the domain name is good from seo point of view. I have seen many domains having no keywords doing great. Will a keyword-rich domain name contribute to seo ??

In 2012 Google started going after low quality exact match domains (EMD) so you have to be careful.

Quote:
Late last week, Google’s head of webspam Matt Cutts announced a “small,” upcoming algorithm change meant to reduce the amount of low quality exact match domains in search results. Exact match domains contain keywords that exactly match the search query.

If you can find a good domain name that has keywords and describes what your site is about that is fine. Do not try to get a domain name with alot of keywords just try to find a domain name with a few keyword that makes sense and is easy to remember works best. You still have do seo of site for the keywords to get ranked high.

I don't think it will contribute to SEO as much as it might have in the past, content is still king.
That being said, from a branding standpoint and attracting repeat visitors it certainly will help if your domain name is directly related to your site content.

As long as it's not an exact match, you might be quite surprised at the potential positive outcome.

i have a few domains with keywords and they can rank and get traffic without penalty.

Yes, it is good for SEO. You can use a simple domain name with high targeted keyword in it. This will result yous site in the better ranking of your blog in search engines. Even it is a legal activity and your site will not get penalized.

Its good for SEO. But don't use extra keyword in it, just use your main keyword and it should be simple to remember but after choosing the keyword rich domain you have to do onpage and offpage activity also its not like that its depends only on keyword rich domain to get top in Google SERP.

If you target one keyword, then my advice domain name and the title of the blog also contains the keywords, and it will be better for optimization or SEO in the competition for a search

Defiantly not. We are doing SEO for promoting your brand not for the keyword. so get the domain in your brand name and do SEO for that domain. You can have a domain in keyword name as a secondary one. It will support your ranking along with your primary website.

Thanks,

As much as I talked with SEO specialists, it is good to have a keyword rich domain, but it is not as much important as other factors of the domain. Such factors as Pagerank, Domain Authority, Domain Age and etc.

Unless you've done any tests, I'll assume you are posting this because you read it on some forum or it's just your opinion.

I have tested this and you'd be surprised. It can help move some SERP listings as much as 10 positions. I'm not talking from position 51 to 41 - I'm taking about from position 12 to 2 or pos 9 to 1 - and stay there too.

yes it `helps a lot as google first gives priority to the domain name. but dont use more than 1 keyword in domain name as it leads to spamming . better use simple one keyword domain name

Keyword-rich domain names should not be your only focus, but they can help – and every little bit helps. One of the things I like most about keyword-rich domains is the search engines will bold the keywords in the search results, which can grab the visitor’s attention.

I would suggest reading this link right here - this is the most reliable source of information when it comes to SEO or at least one of the few these days since there is a LOT of crap.

Check it out and study it - http://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors
