need new registrar

I have some domains registered with GoDaddy. I need to change the MX records, but apparently they don't allow me to do this unless the Nameservers are theirs. In other words, they want to require me to host with them before I can change this kind of info. Bastards. So I'd like to transfer it to someone who allows this without having to host with them.

I have domains hosted with Yahoo that don't require me to have their name servers to change mx records, but they don't allow transfers to them...

Any suggestions?

Well if you change the nameservers to your own host then can your host not just manage your MX records. I know that if your using cPanel you can just change the MX record on the cPanel email screen to whatever you want.

If you are using cPanel, go to your Mail section. There is an option to change your MX record but it's gonna do nothing if you need to enter few MX entries unless you have acess to WHM.

Please provide the server environment details IF you are hosting those domains on any server so that I can help a bit..

Are you using a normal cPanel hosting account or any reseller one? If you wanna simply point your MX records to different server, just go to: Mail >> Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry).

But you'll have to be able to access WHM if you need to enter few differnet MX Entries.. something like this:

mail.differentdomain.com. - 14000 - MX - 0 - mail.differentdomain.com.

In this case, you gotta delete the previous MX entries in your DNS template and enter the new MX entries. Then click save. This change should be fully functional in 48hrs.

If you don't have a reseller account, you can ask your web hosting provider to change the MX entries for you.

hope this works for you..

This is a host issue not a registrar problem. The registrar only control nameservers...from there the hosts must control DNS. Contact v7n.
