I have a nice 3 letter .be domain but people say it is not useful to rank better in SE's.

Is it true?
I never found much related to .be, so had a doubt.

I have a .be domain and I spent a little time of developing that, but it has acheived PR3.. so I dont think it really matters to have .be extension

yeah I haven't seen anything yet that indicates the search engines putting more weight on different extensions. I think having your keywords in the domain helps, but the extenion I think is has no effect.

with that said, a .com is more valuable but not because of SE's, because of visitors.

Having a .be domain won't hurt your SE placement unless they are searching by country.

I let 19 generic.be drop this month. They had the lowest typin I've ever seen. I thought .in was light, .be beat them. Last year .be was a free registration, at that time tens of thousands got registered on the day it began. Many of them are being dropped now. Now, I'm speaking of parked sites, not developed. We all know deloping a site has impact, but if your going to invest alot of time into developing you could spend a little more on a .com or .info. Both are very popular today. 3 charcter .coms for the most part are selling for less than 100$ these days.
