To be honest with you, I'd rather see you start a website in a category you have a knowledge of and will continue to learn more about it too give your visitors the best advice ever.

Don't worry about getting ranked right away in a niche you have no clue about, start a blog in which you know you can pump out quality content any day of the week.

I've used WordPress for a long time and have started 3 different blogs related to WordPress. 2 was blogs about WordPress tips, news....etc I know WordPress very good so I'm comfortable in writing in this niche these days.

The rankings will come over time anyways. The point is, what topic or type of business do you have interest for?

You can start with any niche where you can feel comfortable to write and and promote. Once you choose your category ranking is not so tuff, with your hard work it can reach at higher position too.
