Exclamation What to do when your domain name is stolen

Hi,

I have recently discovered that 3 of my domain names have been stolen or "hi-jacked".

I have mailed ICANN and IANA and the hosts (what a laugh there - no support Accuburst!).

What should I be doing and who should I be talking to.

I assume that the domains were hi-jacked when the servers were hacked by parties unknown.
The whois info for them is most certainly false ( Linky for ctcnetwork.net )

Thanks for any useful suggestions

Des. . .

I don't know if this will help you, but I also had two domains hosted at accuWORST (a.k.a. accuBURST), and one of them is being intermittently hijacked since I've put the smack-down on them for complete and total lack of support.

Please visit http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=464201

to see a very, very detailed thread on how you can get in touch with accuBURST and begin filing a complaint against them with the Dept. of Consumer Protection in CT. I highly encourage you to do this. Several of us over there had been unable to get in touch with anyone at accuBURST until I actually called their attorney of record. His contact information as well the contact information for the owner of accuBURST is provided in that thread on the webhostingtalk.com forums.

If necessary, I can crosspost the information here. It's just a LOT of information, and it's easier if you go there to read it. I've tried to hit most of the hosting review forums during the past two weeks, but I can't get all of them.

Good luck to you. Dealing with accuBURST is a nightmare, and now I have the added headache of dealing with some apparent DNS hijacks and DNS poisoning attacks since canceling my hosting accounts with them. My new web host is great, but it doesn't do me any good if someone if performing a DNS hijack. Of course, the a$$hole at accuBURST is trying to insist that these issues are because the name server changes haven't propagated, but that's total BS; it's been almost a week since I changed my name servers, and the tests I've done show a definite DNS Poisoning.

Perhaps you would be interested in joining our class action lawsuit? At any rate, let me know if you need ANY information. I'm delighted to help you, as I know what a pain in the a$$ accuBURST is and have spent considerable time and energy tracking them down for my own support issues.
