How do you decide how much to sell a domain for?

I have just started buying domain names with the idea of reselling them. before I was just buying names I liked just to keep. Now the big decision on How much should I sell them for. I have several that are getting a little attention. I have had them appraised by the machines and manually.
When do y'all decide to let them go and for how much...Do you sell for like the appraised value only to find out you should of sold for more. Or is a bird in the hand now worth more then "maybe" two birds later. I think I need a domain advisor or honest broker. Is there such a thing. Just looking for any feedback. thanks

Ask for an appraisal here on this forum and see what others have to say for your domain name. If you need help urgently then PM me the domain name. I am not a domain guru but can appraise it free for you.

good domain name with high PR, sell at far better price. meantime of keeping it, you might consider SEO it and get some PR first

A domain is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I just picked up a domain that was listed at Sedo for $10,000. I didn't pay that much of course. I bought it after it expired. It's not worth more than a couple $100 in my opinion...

Domain selling is a tricky business; the keyword rich domains get a hold of good value what I think.

Take into account a couple things:
- How much you paid for it, unless you feel like losing money
- If you were buying this domain how much would you pay
- Traffic
-- Traffic Source
--- Links
--- Type Ins
--- Typo
- Revenue
- Keyword
-- Searches per Month
-- Ad Competition
-- Ad Price

If you dont want to set a price do the old "accepting offers" gig.

That's right. Make sure you check the history at archive.org to see what the previous use of the site was. You never know if it is blacklisted by Google or not. Make sure to do your research.

This is the first time I have come across archive.org so I went to it and did some research on sites I have worked on in the past and presently. Not all of the information displayed appears correct. I actually own 1 banned domain, you wouldnt know it for looking at archive.com. It is a good tool for reference purposes but I would rely on it.

One important factor when buying a domain, i think anyway, is when was it origionally registered. Buying old domain that have never expired seems like a good way of avoiding sandbox.

The domain I am currently working on worldwidetrading.co.uk we registered last year immediatly after it expired. We tried to buy it amicably but were unable to contact the previous owner. Now that it has expired and been re-registered it appears as if it is a new domain.

I myself am a domain seller/buyer. Domains are real estate on the internet. Sometimes you can get a good cheap house and build into it and it grows with equity.

Same for a domain....Buy a domain..drive traffic to it...bring exposure and it will rise slowly more then reg fee. When you see big sales of domains mostly it's due to their KEYWORD presence and how they rank as well....

IE: Stocks.com is better then Ibuystocks.com

Dont think however that if no one buys your domain you still cant sell it....
A lot of times its just a hit and miss
