I'm not in the business of re-selling domain names but someone wants to buy the domain name for my personal site.

It is really out of the blue and I have no clue what to sell something like that for.

The domain name is an acronym for the name of their business which is a surgery institute out in Los Angeles.

Any ideas on how much I should ask for?

Every domain name has a different value so without knowing what it is its pretty tough to tell you what to do.

I would probably ask them for their offer as well.

Also ty to veify if this email and sender is legit. There are scams that go on with asking someone to sell their name. Search the email address on Google and see if anything bad comes up.

Yeah, sorry I've been so vague about it but I've decided I'm not going to sell it to him. He acts like I am entitled to basically give him the domain name because he wants it for business purposes and for me its "just some personal site"

His offer was a page on his site as long as I had a disclaimer saying I wasn't affiliated with the business. I don't understand how he thinks anyone would be THAT naiive.

He also offered to pay for whatever other domain name I wanted for 5 years..not hosting, just the name which I find just ridiculous.

There are a lot of tire kickers just out to try to lowball others. That's why your first response should always be aimed to weed them out.

when I was looking at dotcom of a particular dog breed (which is STILL unused over a year later) I was going to start my offer at $250-500... and I'm just a hobbyist. So yeah... for a few years of free registration I'd tell the wanker to bugger off.
