Domain Hosts

I’m interested in buying a new domain.
1. What is the cheapest place to register a new domain? (Go Daddy?)
2. What is the cheapest place to host a domain?

talk about domain... godaddy normal price is 8.99-9.10 around that.
even with coupon code, you can get 7.6-7.8....

more cheaper domain is from hosting itself.
startlogic: free 1 domain for hosting plan. then every domain is sold by $6.50
so... you see the value here.

In my experience, the cheapest things on the Internet usually end up costing me the most. Either in extra labour or because the cheap service does not include additional items which I need and must have.

I value a DN registration service based on the additional services they include for the price. Most low budget registras charge extra for things that come standard with other registras.

Don't ask what is the cheapest. Ask what features/services do I need to be included with the hosting plan.

Do I need mySQL databases?
Do I need to host mutiple domains?
Do I need unlimited free sub-domains?
Will they charge me $1.00 per month per sub-domain?
Will they charge me $5 per month for "advanced stats"?
What scripts do I need on the site?
Will my script run on this particular web host or will they charge me extra for some item in order to make the script work?
What kind of control panel is it?
and much more..

First figure out what needs to be included in the hosting plan and then shop around for price.

I would recommend namecheap.com. They are a fairly good reputable registrar.

I would also recommend namecheap. I'm currently in the process of transferring all my domains to them, you'll pay a bit more but it's well worth the price.

I think it's better to buy a domain from one company (ahosting.biz) and host it with the other one (valuhost.com).

I use separate domain name and hosting companies. I can't say whether it is the right answer but that is what I have been doing. It allows you do change hosting without having to move everything else.

Don't you dare go with 1and1!!! Trust me they are horrible, and when you want to transfer your domains it takes on average 1-3 weeks. Besides their hosting sucks, so much downtime.
