Selling a domain name?

Hi everybody,

A few years ago I registered a bunch of domain names, and pretty much forgot about it (well, except when the time came for the yearly payment

Yesterday I was contacted by a company wanting to purchase one of those domain names.

I have no experience selling a domain name, so could someone please inform me of what I should or shouldn't do in order to close this deal. (I want to sell.) They want me to suggest a price, which even that is difficult since I don't know much about what kind of price I could possibly get. The domain name in question is closely related to the gambling industry, is a ".com"-adress, consists of two short and relevant words, and has no hyphens or numbers in it .

Is there a site where you can see how much different domain names has been sold for?

Any help is greatly appreciated, and sorry for being kind of long-winded...

Best regards,
Leo

No hyphens, not too good for seo, but more user friendly. Really depends on the name, could be worth anything from $50, to a few thousand.

Check out dnforum.com, they have some real domain hounds over there. You can see exactly what's being paid for certain domains.

If you want, PM me the domain name and I'll give you an honest appraisal based on my personal domain experiences....and failures.

I once owned an adult domain that I let expire only to find out years later it receives thousands of type-ins a month. Of course this was before all the free domain parking and traffic monetizing available now... and I didn't know s**t back then. Point is, sometimes you don't know what you have till its gone.

Yep I agree check out what what kind of traffic that name would generate already from type-ins, if its a good name that alone would be valuable.

Also are all the other extensions taken for the name? .net, .org etc the prospect buyer may already own some of those other extensions in which case this would make yours more valuable also.
