How much for this beauty
If a .com sold for $100,000 at sedo.

How much do you think the exact same name would be worth but at a country extension.

example.
globalsearch.com sold for $67,000 US

What would globalsearch.co.nz be worth?

Would someone buy it from me for say 10% of that?

all depends on the term..Globalsearch.com may have been bought by a company..Maybe they wanted to get it so they had the .com reserved whenever they want to build their site. I don't think globalsearch.co.nz would be worth more than reg. fee..Now if it was something like weather.co.nz or poker.co.nz i think it would be a completely different story. just my 2 cents

Good point on the globalsearch, it wouldn't really be a global search if it was centred around Nz
You mention poker and weather...what about say pokeronline.co.nz or freepoker.co.nz?
would they be worth something or would it be better to develop those sites?

Hi Labrocca
Thanks for the insight, I am pretty new to the domain name business, well internet business all together.
I own Real Estate agencies in Australia and New Zealand hence the interest in the domain names when CNN pointed out the correllation between Real estate and Internet Real Estate.
Some one just bought sugardaddy.co.nz off me for $800US so that would coincide with the 1% mark you indicated.

Being you are local to the country code this often helps in domain sales. You are more likely to have insight to terms as well as marketing to the right people. Does NZ have any other CC extensions besides co.nz? I had a friend years ago from NZ..man his accent was thick. hehe

NZ does have other extensions, pretty much the same as the international ones actually.
there is name.org.nz, name.net.nz, name.ac.nz, name.geek.nz, name.gen.nz and name.school.nz

I hear a lot of women like our kiwi accents...lol...he probably did well
