Domain problem needs help..

Good morning people of V7N.

I have a question regarding on domain and it's effect in indexing or in SEO.

Does it makes any difference between?
mydomain.com and mydomain.com/index.html

My scenario is... when I type in mydomain.com on my browser I always receive an error "403 Forbidden" but when I type in mydomain.com/index.html then my site shows up. Have any of you guys experience this problem and solved it? I need your warm advice and solution for this problem.

Admin: Please remove this thread if you find it offensive or if I place it in wrong category. Thank you so much...

Thank you so much in advance.

If you're using apache you most likely have directory browsing turned off (good thing), but most likely don't have index.html set as one of your DocumentIndex entries.

You will want the webserver to serve up index.html when the directory is requested.

I just receive a message from godaddy support.

"I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. It appears that the error you are receiving is a scripting issue with your ".htaccess" file. Unfortunately, we do not provide coding or scripting support. I recommend performing a search on a search engine for more information. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

What is this guys thanks?

If you are using apache, you can set redirection from the .htaccess file.

Yes and enabling modrewite in .htaccess will help. Look into standardizing your mainpage to not split your pr to two pages.
