Need help with transferring domain

Hi.. I am wanting to buy through V7 but am having problems with my current host. My current host (http://www.modesthost.com) has a horrible customer support team, and hasn't gotten back with me for four days about exceeding my bandwidth or about hosting for another domain with them (which they said would only take 12-24 hours). My problem is that since I registered this domain (http://www.myfreeadssecret.com) through them, they don't provide a way to change the nameservers. We tried switching from them to another host before, and I sent them an e-mail requesting them to change the nameservers, and they never responded then.

Is there a way to get hosting for this site here and also to figure out how to get the nameservers properly put into place?

I always hate the idea of registering a domain name with the host. Stories like this keep that idea very sour in my mind.

What I would suggest is first moving your domain to another registrar. This will get the domain out from under the control of your host and in your control. Is the domain acutally registered in your name? A whois lookup provides the registar as being My Net Marketing Center in Reno NV.

In looking more it looks like the domain is in a registrar-lock state so moving to another registar might not be possible. You may be able to contact Enom. They are the company whom your host acutally registered the domain thru.

Regrefully unless you can get your DNS servers changed your kind of held hostage with that domain.

Might want to use a new domain until you can get this sorted out with Enom and/or your old host.

Thanks.. If we do need to secure a new domain, do you know if it might be possible to forward the domain to whichever URL we use in the future?

If you go with V7, we allow unlimited domain parking/forwarding.

Let's say you buy free-ads-secret.com. You would set the set up using this domain, and then when you gain access to the DNS for the old domain, you could forward myfreeadssecret.com to free-ads-secret.com.
