Domain Hell

I see these guys selling domains they picked up off of the dropped list and selling them for 20-30 bucks a crack. Now, I've tried to resell some of them and I can't even get a single watcher, let alone I only list them at new reg price. I've only bought domains I thought were of quality, but they go unnoticed. I mean every one I've bought, I had to compete for, and they weren't all from the same seller(or maybe he's sneaky). Are there any tips on how to sell them. I'm sure selling my entire portfolio will lose me money, but, ebay fees add up when your not selling.

If you are looking to make 20-30 dollars a pop selling domain names on eBay, you should focus on the shorter domain names. Do a completed search for 5 letter domain names (.com's), and many of these will have sold in that price range. If you need help making 5 letter domain names I can help just write me back. John

I guess when I said 5 letter domains I forgot to say brandable/ pronouncable. For instance gippy.com or surty.com simple pronounceable domains do better than random 5 letter domains. Also the way you list your domain name plays a big part take a look at my listing. John

Also you have to take into consideration there are thousands of horrible domain names on eBay, and the reason why some domains arent bidding as high as you might like is that people have to sort through all of the really crappy names. The dman_2007 pointed out many very important points with his artice. Learning how to sell domain names takes time, and most people buy what they think is a good domain name before they know what a good domain names is. John

It's definitely a skill. You gotta pick domain names that have brandability, or are keyword rich.

That intro will help you out.

The selling game is not easy. Don't expect to make money fast.

Those domains are not very favorable. I would recommend looking for two word phrases that are catchy or commonly searched. I just picked up articledirectory.info and adamsfamily.info (this will be a family blog). Best of luck!

You're not unlucky it's the same story every where. I hate to say this but there is a real recession going on.

A forum were you could sell in a hour, a few months ago people can not give domains away even LLLL are silly prices.

Now is the time to buy hold ! Not reg to sell.

eBay is for sure not the best place to sell them. You should add them to at least these ones:

http://www.MissDomain.com
http://www.Sedo.com
http://www.Afternic.com

+ some big DN forums, domainstate, dnforum etc.

Not only is it the depression NOT a recession thats going on folks, its the fact that the domain industry is incestuous bigtime!!!

These domain nerds are all dealing with each otther on certain levels and people like you and I without the loads of LLL.coms or the generic .coms are getting shafted by domain reg companies, lifetime domainers with connections to each other selling and buying from each other, and the major hype!

I suggest you BUY real Silver 1 oz coins, its relatively cheap and way more valuable than most domains today.! screw the domains for now . HOLD what you have and move into another area to make $$$ to survive this domain depression!!

afternic and sedo are a joke as well. They have MILLIONS of domains listed and if you want them spotlighted it costs min of $60 ea to get into a feature spot. Afternic is owned by one of the worlds biggest domain holders and they mix their names in with yours on their sites so you have to pay to compete with their inventory as well Its a rigged system all for their favour!

So I put up 13 lllll.coms and nothing. This is getting old. I understand everyone on ebay wants something for nothing, but I think these domains are good. I got an offer for $23 for all of them, and $5 for one. ARG!!!
