how to transfer .org domain

There is a .org site I may be interested in and the owner is willing to sell. Can somebody tell me what procedure and charges is involved with transferring a .org domain? I know that with co.uk names you have a £20 fee to nominet but have no idea about .org

Cheers.

Make sure you're not being scammed, verify the ownership before proceeding and preferably use some kind of escrow service for payment.

WHICH IS???? !!!!!

Do you mean that it is the same as .co.uk domains, you have to pay £20 to change the registered owner? I thought Nominet only dealt with co.uk names?

Depends on which registrar you choose to use, normally its 1 year registration fee only, charged the new owner. Normally around $10.

Thanks! I was thinking that there was an additional charge, as there is with Nominet.

Some registrars may charge additional for some TLD:s but in that case I would choose another registrar, .org are usually straightforward.
