i don't have any as of yet, just wanted to know if you guys have who have experience with them think they are worth the trouble.

Yes. Your success with misspelled domains will depend on the (correct) domain popularity, and sometimes the research you do ahead of buying. Just be careful though. Keep in mind some domain misspellings tread on trademark infringement and may result in cease and desist, or worse.
