How to Select The Proper Domain Name

Choosing a proper domain name is a vital step that should be given serious consideration in your business plan.A short, descriptive and catchy domain name may just be money in the bank.

## 1. MAKE IT EASY FOR CUSTOMERS

# Can they say it?

# Can they spell it?

# Can they remember it?

# Shorter is better.

# Try to use extension names with .com,.org or .net

## 2. DOMAIN NAME MUST BE RELATED WITH SITE

The Domain Name of Your Site must be related with the type of your site.Such as People may get the idea of your site from the Domain Name.

## 3. MAKE SURE YOU OWN IT.

If your web designer registered your domain name on your behalf, get this resolved right away. Make sure:

# you own your own domain name

# your contact information is correct and current

# Make sure your domain is registered for at least 5 years.

# you have the current login and password to your domain name registry.

## 4. GET IT CHEAP.

# Never invest too much for the domain name.

With best regards,

You should also check if it is cached through Google. Cached domains are easier to monetize.

I don't know how many times something like this comes up, here is how I do it:
An Idea comes to mind
I look up a domain name to match the idea
I find the domain name, but its taken
I am frustrated and drop the idea and move on

How many time did this happen to me? about 10 times or more a day, seems that others have thought of the idea a long time ago, so what should I do, here is what I did:
I came up with an idea for a website.
I found the domain name is taken
I back-ordered the domain name
I ended up with the domain name few months / years later
I forget why I wanted the domain name in the first place.
I now still pay for domains I don't use.
The End
Fin
