I installed WP in my 1&1 account, then decided back end coding it was not my cup of tea (can't code php). Instead I've created my own HTML5 website that's ready to go- but I can't upload it- my defunct WP is in the way.

I have uninstalled WP from my 1&1 account, redirected my domain from the WP ap folder to my root folder, I've deleted all WP folders from my root folder and my ftp folders in DreamWeaver, and ftp'd my website through DW (and Filezilla too for good measure) using my 1&1 ftp username. It connects fine- but when I go to my domain (aimee-town.com) there's a 404 'forbidden' error, and the little icon for 'Sight'- the WP theme I had previously installed, is in the address bar. Yet my aimee-town.com/wp-admin no longer exists.

Can anyone suggest where abouts my domain is still directed to WP, or why it won't connect to my root folder? I've tried directing it to /. and to the user/rootfolder file path- but WP still seems to have priority.

Any help would be much appreciated
