100 Greatest Rock Songs...(?)
Nice list with all in all 300 rock songs. I'm not sure how they made this list, but the collection is comprehensive - even if "Light my fire" (Doors) is no 1 for me.
I'm also not sure if John Lennons "Imagine" (no 15) actually is a rock song.
Feel free to correct the list...

Couldnt agree more! I'm also a big fan of Steppenwolf and they have done so much more than "Born to be wild" which always appears on lists like this.

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen. Officially the No.1 rock song of all time as voted by the UK public last year.

These lists almost always reveal more about the age of their compilers than anything else. "Classic" rock dominates this list. Not to mention that "rock" remains so abstract as to almost be undefinable at this point. Is "pop" also "rock?" Does anyone care? Could we consider Miles Davis' jazz/rock fusion "Bitches Brew" rock? Yes. No. Who knows?
Plus, the list didn't include "Moonlight on Vermont" by Captain Beefheart. So what's it worth?!?!

I'm very glad that list includes so much from the 60's and 70's...
Later in the 80's appeared Madonna and a bunch of others who don't give a flip about music, they started making video clips and everyone forgot that music was about sound. Since then people care more about the image-side of music, the clips, the appearance of the artists, their biographies and everything but the music they make.
So much for those days when the Beatles, the Stones or Pink Floyd were making real music, sound music and not visual music.
