Goodbye Corazon Aquino, Mother of Philippine Democracy

Who would've thought an ordinary housewife of an assassinated senator would be the first female President of the Philippines and of whole Asia? She restored the Filipino people's freedom from a dictator and brought back democracy.

A woman of power - she was hailed as "Woman of the Year" by Time Magazine in 1986 and was recognized as one of the most powerful women in Asia. She also made a speech before the U.S. Congress. A woman of faith - she proved that prayer could defeat force via People Power Revolution which made news headlines as "the revolution that surprised the world".

She succumbed to colon cancer after a year long battle. August 1, 2009 at age 76, she peacefully joined our creator. You will never be forgotten, your legacy will live on.

"Paalam Corazon Aquino" (Goodbye Corazon Aquino)
She renders herself to serve Filipinos & her outstanding
attitude as a leader will remain to every Filipino. Her humility,
her character, the way she lift her hand and sign "L" (LABAN).
She's definitely the best example of a LEADER & FOLLOWER.
Rest in peace Corazon Aquino. SALAMAT Thanks for the democracy
you've made for the Filipino people.

How sad that she suffered from that illness. I have seen it through online news. I'm sure Filipinos are very proud of her.

Its very overwhelming to know that there's still one president we can consider as very good
in terms of her leadership, I saw that almost everyone knows her all in her good points & deeds.
Hope Philippines would be able to find another leader like her
