If you're a citizen, you're american.

If you were born in or have lived in America for a certain length of time and aquired citizenship, then you are technically an American, despite what you choose to call yourself.

You are contradicting yourself, Pimp.
You can easily avoid that by saying that you are a Macedonian American, which is an actual fact.
You saying, I'm not an American, is not a fact. You see what I'm saying?

I'm a mongrel American, myself.
That's a fact.
1/4 Italian
1/4 Irish
and the rest is a mix of English, Scottish, a bit of French a bit of German and God knows what else.. LOL
but I am 100% American. This is a fact.

Yup Atom I would agrea with you on that. Just like we supposedly have African Americans here in the South. Since they have been here for generations you could really call them Americans, without the African part. We have Arab Americans, Spanish, Jewish, Asians, Chinese all types thats what makes us America.
I am southern not a yankee and not a redneck.

But why should I say I'm Macedonia American if I have no American blood in me, just because I was born in the land doesn't make me physically American...

If you were born here take a note of what I just said that will clarify what you are. Now if generations in your family you could call youself just american. But if you were born here id say that would make you an american as well. If you had just moved here for some reason you would be macedoinian american.
P.s Doc gets big stick and beats around in closet to see what comes out. Dont like boogey mans hiding in my closet lol.

Being American has nothing to do with blood lines, and you don't have to say you're Macedonian American if you don't want, it would be accurate if you did, though. It would also be 100% accurate to simply say that you're American, because it's totally true.

But when I think about calling people American or Macedonian or Jewish or whatever, I think of blood lines and ethnicity, not where you are born. I think that has nothing to do with it.

It's a culteral pride and identity thing. Let him have it. I think Americans get far too removed from thier roots.

Not sure..
Actually, my dad did do a family tree, and you, Southnow, would be surprised at who one of my ancestors is on my fathers side and of the same name as I.

Kerry, I honestly don't feel like getting into another Bush debate so just except my worthless opinion and argue with someone who gives a damn.
