Finished 'Saving Private Ryan' earlier. I don't generally care for war movies but that was pretty good.
Did 'Citizen Kane' too, I didn't care at all for that one.
'City Of God' was ... sad but true.
'Napolean Dynamite' had a few funny moments. That guy can dance for real.

Just finished 'Requiem For A Dream'. A few inconsistencies .. overdramatic in some places and a bit underdramatic in others but, over all, top shelf. That is my kind of movie. Very close to reality.
I saw a British movie (actually I think it was Scottish Brits that they were) a few months back about smackheads that I can't think of the name of right now, but that one was quite good too. A lot of realism in that one as well. Train something or something train, as I recall. Fusion suggested it to me. The reason I can't remember the name, and what I do remember is, the name didn't make sense to me.
Trainhopping or Trainbumping or something like that ... wasn't 'hopping' or 'bumping' though, and had nothing to do with trains. Good movie about junkies.

It's a very well made movie. Technically.
Although even in the technical aspect the movie seems uneven. They went as far as using pigs carcasses to recorde the sound of bullets hitting and ripping flesh, but they used vehicles with registration plates that weren't introduced in France untill about 10 years after WW2.
The sad part is that some American schools are already using it to teach history, even though the action, plot and characterizations in the movie have little to do with history.
Again, it's a good movie to watch and I would recommend it, but with a caution that this is not a movie to learn history from.

nah, not her. But I had a crush on one chick based solely on her voice. When I lived in Berlin I would just melt down when I listened to the anouncer on U-Bahn (the subway train):
die nachste Station - Kurfuerstendamm
The voice was soooooo....
Well, to make a long story short; she was just over 64. I was 23

Ahh yes .. that's it! I thought that was pretty good.
What's a drongo?
Hey you don't happen to know of any other good junkie movies, do you?
I want to find 'Rush' so bad, but I can't find the damn thing! You know, the one that Eric Clapton made a song for.

good question!
I'd say it was a friendly, yet - mildly offensive jibe, much the same as
"Ass-clown" or
"bell-smoker"
!

Oh also - yes if you are looking for wierd, f'd up films why not try some David Lynch?
Lost Highway
Blue Velvet
Mulholland Drive is ok too.
As for druggy films, the only one which springs to mind is "Human Traffic" which i found a bit cr$ppy. Probably good if your really into your clubbing.

Great, I'll look em up.
I'm actually looking for realistic films about heroin addiction, but I enjoy different types of true to life non-fiction films.
