Favorite movies
I like most Beat Takeshi flicks.
Akira Kurosawa's "High and Low" is an all time great, as is "Ferris Bueler's Day Off".

"Mr. Jones". Not a comedy though. It's Richard Gere profiling the life of a manic depressive. Excellent movie.

No, but it sounds familiar.
"Scarface" is another favorite. The Al Pachino one.

I haven't seen "Rush" and I want to, but I can't find the damn thing to download it. The one about the narcs that become junkies. Kind of an older one I guess but, I really wanna see that.

I don't really have a single favorite movie. One of my favorites is the movie "Blow". Don't watch it very often because the sad ending, though.

Finished 'Saving Private Ryan' earlier. I don't generally care for war movies but that was pretty good.
Did 'Citizen Kane' too, I didn't care at all for that one.
'City Of God' was ... sad but true.
'Napolean Dynamite' had a few funny moments. That guy can dance for real.

It's a very well made movie. Technically.
Although even in the technical aspect the movie seems uneven. They went as far as using pigs carcasses to recorde the sound of bullets hitting and ripping flesh, but they used vehicles with registration plates that weren't introduced in France untill about 10 years after WW2.
The sad part is that some American schools are already using it to teach history, even though the action, plot and characterizations in the movie have little to do with history.
Again, it's a good movie to watch and I would recommend it, but with a caution that this is not a movie to learn history from.
