MSN License

Yeah that MSN agreement is a step back for interoperability. I developed a 3D IM (http://www.universe-im.com) I was forced to yank out the MSN protocol from my client since my ISP wont host my servers if I did.

Or you can just create another account on Trillian to connect to AIM.

It's really easy to use See, you go into Connection Manager and create a new AIM connection. Voila.

That's what he was saying, he can log into two different AIM screennames with Trillian.

I'd also have to go with Trillian. It's the best I've used, though I do miss the features of the individual clients occasionally...

I don't Pro has more than the normal ones. Of course most people use the free edition.

Also. No ads or stupid popup messages from the providers.

I use MSN because 1) I really like it and 2) Most of my friends are non-techies so they all use MSN.

Instant Messenger allows people to interrupt you when you're working... I dislike it, except for Yahoo, which lets me be invisible so I can ignore Spear.

I have Trillian Pro but don't use it... just couldn't get used to it .... I went back to using the individual ones ... I know several people that swear by it though ... I'm thinking of giving it another shot sometime...

actually... MSN messenger is the only one that allows you to be totally unbothered in offline mode... problem is, you are not left a message and also aren't given the opportuniy to see who tried to contact you...

the "send message" option is not even active in peoples panels, when you're in offline mode in MSN messenger ...

I'll jump on the Trillian band wagon here. Been using it for a few months and as many of you said.. I occasionally miss some of the things that the individual messengers offer but MSN doesn't have a Toilet emoticon either so.. Trillian it is!!
