Actually, I somehow I forgot to hit Publish yesterday, although this post was ready to go.

I FINALLY understood block theory, as it applies to weaving design.

Just a very brief one from me today I'm afraid. Today I learned that the heart breaks and very little matters when your 18 month old nephew has to be taken to the serious burns unit. He'll be fine though which I thank any deity people may believe in for.

Sorry to hear of your bad news. Fortunately, your nephew will recover, but I'm sure it's pretty awful, nonetheless.

Thanks to Cricket's SEO class (lesson 2.2), today I learned that my mac came loaded with a groovy little screenshot tool - Grab. Never knew that before!

I learned there are at least two versions of google. Google instant will not let you change certain features like the number of search results listed.

I've decided that I'm going to restart this challenge taking a new angle on it. A late start, but one which I plan to finish.

I can describe it best by this excerpt from my announcement post, 30 Computing How-To's in 30 Days:

But that’s not an awful lot of use to you, is it? So I’m going to add another proviso to the challenge, I’m going to turn each and every one of those things that I learn into a HowTo, so that you guys can learn it along with me. I’ve made a list of 30 things that I’ve always wanted to know but never bothered to learn.
I'm going to be running this over at my new blog, AlphaNegative Design.

Today I learned that no matter how cute, fluffy, and good something may be when starting out, the more it grows, potentially bigger than it’s breeches, the more it gives into greed, the likelihood it turns evil increases. Blogged about it at http://www.howtomakemoneyonlines.org...iated-you-yet/

Today I learned how to solve another weaving problem. Unfortunately this one was again of my own making. Sure wish I could say it was the first time. Or that it'd be the last.

Another brief one unfortunately - my nephew was refusing milk and had to have a nasal drip put in, fortunately morphine works wonders so he isn't in pain. I learned today that setting up a spreadsheet diary will in-fact help me significantly. It's just a matter of creating the spreadsheet to do it now.

I too was going to join and learn stuff, but like Jake I already know every thing so it would be a waste of brain power.. {Grin}.
New word for today.

Q. What do you call a person who loves to learn?

A. phylomath.

I would offer to - however the lovely Cricket does it with much more finesse and elegance than me.

I may not have been posting but I have been learning more about Key West history, and particularly the early wreckers who came to Key West to salvage the cargoes of ships that ran afoul of the reefs. That post will have to cover the weekend.

I learned today, that what people say about fear is mostly true, we worry about way too many things that never happen. How did I learn this? I have worried and procrastinated about writing a book to help people make money online. Recently, I was moved by the outcry in our V7N forums for honest information to help people realize their dreams. So, last night and today, I wrote a Preface and Introduction I posted in our forums to see what people thought. I worried for nothing. To view it, visit our forums and tell me what you think.

I learned today to embrace methodical planning is indeed a good move - sure it's tedious and slightly boring but it's going to help me out massively in the future. Especially as the systems that I am developing are getting bigger and bigger.
