Alright children, pop quiz. Which one of these is not like the other?

When you finish please hand your paper to the person behind you and we'll grade them.

After planting some shrubbery at one of the properties, I entered play mode and went shopping for a target pistol. I finally found one that seemed to fit my hand oh so well.

The Beretta U22 Neos with the 4.5" barrel seemed to me the best fit. Originally I was leaning toward a 6 shot single action and then I though, if I ever need it the semi would be a better choice. Most I rely on the 20 gauge for home protection but they make such a mess indoors.

I would buy a 9mm but the rounds are a little pricey for target practice, and targets are all I ever hope to shoot.

I am open to suggestions.

robjones 06-29-2011 05:14 PM

N a pinch any gun beats none, nobody wants to get shot regardless of the caliber, but the terminal ballistics of a .22 round indicate using it for self defense might accidentally piss the guy off if you hit him. Then again with the Noe he might mistake it for a space death ray or something.

From a simple standpoint of a great pistol that carries a large capacity of ammo and shoots well with extremely high reliability from a malfunction standpoint I'm a fan of the beretta 92fs.

9mm may cost more than .22, but if there's ever a major event where things go downhill the two pistol cartridges with highest availability will be 9mil and 45acp. I'd rather have a 45 if I had to fire at anything I thought might fire back, but I really don't wanna get into a defense scenario with a 22.

That said, the 20ga is already there and for the point you mentioned you'd get a lot of recreational use outta the Noe at a killer price, so it'd really be in a backup role. They make a helluva gun, rivaled only by Glock for reliability.

Can't I just fill the guy full of buck shot?

robjones 06-29-2011 05:30 PM

That'd work. I'm not bloodthirsty, but if somethings enough of a danger to shoot it, I don't want it getting back up.

ScriptMan 06-29-2011 06:18 PM

There might be a couple of other long pieces here also. I just hate the kick from the 100 year old 12ga. I swear a mule kicks softer.

Nothing is going to happen any time soon. I blew the summer toy budget on a new prime lens on Tuesday evening. The only thing I will be shooting is digital images for a while. These darn hobbies can be expensive. Maybe I should go back to work.

At least I found an local indoor range so I am no longer in the market for remote real estate. I can go there much cheaper than paying the property taxes on some acreage.

@ Cricket bird shot or rock salt will yield far less lethal and more pleasurable results from your point of view.

A redneck that used to work on the farm, a guy who was completely capable of raiding a hen house, flat out stated he would rather be shot with lead than rock salt again. He never explained when the first time occurred.

Next time you get a minor cut add a little salt to the wound and let me know what you thing.

I'm still trying to come up with some kind of little lie to tell a friend, i need to scam someone of something i've really wanted for long and i'll get it today. Yeah, thats what i'm working on today. Heh! i'm not a scam we all tell lies at times, huh, and its always for a reason.

Mod note: Speaking of scams... (hey, you brought it up)... we've banned you several times before, edosauyi. Guess what....

mjtaylor 06-30-2011 11:20 AM

I'm working on an outline for a new site for a client, and a friend is coming over and I am going to help her with computer skills ... oh, and some laundry.

I have been working on two key lime pies to take to the dance this evening. The crust is ginger snap pecan.

sdarby 06-30-2011 12:12 PM

Today I'm working out a work plan to balance all the new duties I've had dumped on me to see if I can balance it all and accomplish it all.... ONLY with a solid plan will I manage all the balls they are tossing at me right now!
I have
  • labels
  • letters
  • screenings
  • a new file system to test and implement for the hard copies
  • electronic filing to do
  • waivers to process
  • returns to mail out
  • GOK my minions bring me to research
and all the other little crap that wanders through my closet... errrr office which has no air flow and is at about 75 degrees today!
The biggest 2 are the screenings at about 30++ files a month plus the file system which will be an additional 30++ files to process this month!

Is it time to go home yet? I want my 5 day weekend to start NOW!

sdarby 06-30-2011 12:49 PM

I'm running away to the circus!

I found an error made on some letters for a due date and usually I catch the FOOBAR... not this time or at least not until the day before the actual due date!
(Un)fortunately my bosses will not let me run away to the circus.... they'd have a hold of my ankles to keep me here! It's a fixable FOOBAR and one is even taking on the process of said fix. My stress right now is how to avoid what caused the oopsie in the first place and I think I even have that figured out!

When I told George (my sweetie) he just asked if I could bring back cotton candy!

*SIGH* LOL
