for those who work at home and have their own business, i envy you!!!!

Oh screw them .. Just use it when they are not around ...

I always let my guys do whatever they like, as long as at the end of the month they "show me some".

I don't care even if they come to work each day, or if they work from home, or if they work at night.

I just impose them not to work more than 8 hours a day, and to be at least 3-4 hours a day at the office (not daily).

As for messengers, at my old company, the CEO issued something similar. I just resigned.

My advice on this (as CTO) was not asked, and i would've not approved this.

well for a pregnant women woman like me, it actually ruins my productivity.... Instead of just passing orders over to the trainee on the other side of the room, I'd have to stand up and walk to him/her so that I could tell them what the hell is wrong with the article they just submitted to me or something like that. Some people here don't use thunderbird or outlook, so they don't easily get alerted when they get mail...

And instead of bad mouthing someone through the messenger so that he/she don't have to be humilated in public, I have to do that in person j/k
