Looking forward to seeing the entries in this, good luck everyone. I wish I had a camera to take part.

The first week of this challenge, we are working on filling the frame.
I think we may have some confusion as to what is meant by filling the frame so I have created a few very basic examples to help clarify things. It has nothing to do with shooting with a full frame camera or framing the image. It has everything to do with moving in tight on a single subject. (These shots truly suck. I just took some quick ones to explain this.)
Unfilled frame...
Filled frame...
Unfilled frame...
Filled frame...
Now, you tell me. Is this one filling the frame?

This frame is not quite filled, but I liked the little extra background for him.

Cricket - I've joined other challenges, but something about this one confuses me a bit. That is, there doesn't seem to be any membership here, and one of the links on the V7N blog is to the facebook page. Does one need to be on facebook to participate?
Thanks.

Nope, you do not need to be on FB to participate. You can do so right here in this thread. We have been slow to get started with this one, but people will wander over here soon!

Ok, then I'm in. Just one clarification - for each week, we need 5 shots that fit the bill, right? So for this first week we need 5 shots that fill the frame, correct?

Yes, correct. You can do them one at a time, or over a weekend of shooting, whichever is best for you.

First 2 Fill The Frame
I've got my first two pictures posted on my blog. They are definitely relevant to my regular blog posts.
There are actually 4 pix in this post - the first and last are 'fill the frame' worthy; the middle two - not so much. In fact, the first is a better photo than the last.
I have a few more almost ready to go; they're nature-based, not business-based.
I hope others will be chiming in soon!

Yep - that tight little butt fills the frame just beautifully. You could crop out a bit of the legs and the shirt, but then, IMHO, it might be a bit too....sexist? Disembodied? Neither are quite the right word, but I think it would not make the picture as pleasing to me.

Negative space
I was on a roll today so I took some more pictures after I took the candle picture, which I wrote up on my blog
Here is another example. I hope, of negative space - except that the space is white & the subject is grey.

In order for the image to display here (when not uploaded here) the url must be to the image itself. When linking to an image on Flickr, the url is for the page, rather than the image itself.
To solve this, you can either just give us the link to go look on Flickr, or you can upload to the V7N. http://www.v7n.com/forums/digital-ph...nt-photos.html

More Fill the Frame
I've posted four more 'fill the frame' photos on my blog. These are all nature-based, and, I think, better shots than the jewelry was.
I'll start working on the negative space shots now.

Catching up
I felt quite bad that I was having such a difficult time capturing good photos with negative space, but then saw that no one else is playing along at all.
So, although I'm late, I'm posting my negative space shots anyway. (I saw several great possibilities, of course when I didn't have my camera with me.)
Here they are...my dog finding a spot of sun in the kitchen,
my dog enjoying an early autumn afternoon,
a late laundry on the line, and
an interesting larva on a wet dirt road.

This is the second gibberish post of yours that turns out to be a poorly spun quote of the admin. Gotta feeling your time here is limited. Compare:

Thanks for quick responding! Nice catch! We don't need such members, he better be a translator.
